The Story behind the T-Shirt

I made and sold the “Been There Jen” t-shirt before I left on my first road trip. For every shirt that I sell, I am able to give away a shirt to someone I meet along my journey. Shirts are also given to people who provide me with shelter along my route!

The purpose of the shirt is to inspire you to go find your own adventure. It could be something you have always wanted to do OR something that you love to do. It can be a complex as world travel or as simple as making a plant live for 30 days. It could be cooking that recipe that always seemed too hard or finally being brave enough to cut your dogs hair on your own!

Whatever it is, wear the adventure shirt and take a picture or video of yourself doing it. Email me the picture or video and I will post it on this page so that we can be inspired by each other’s bravery and spirit.

  • Amber and Bob win McKay Challenge!

    McKays used bookstore has 5 total locations spanning across North Carolina and Tennessee. They announced an ultimate roadtrip challenge for July 9th 2024 to celebrate their 50th anniversary. In a nutshell, they stated that a trip to every store within the timeframe of their store hours would result in $800 store credit, a commemorative cup, t-shirt, and keepsake stamped passport. This was the challenge presented to the public with hopes of a decent turnout. Oh boy were they shocked! In a turn of events, the event brought in approximately 10,000 people from around the United States which resulted in mass chaos and a lot of adjustments by McKays
